"It should be the highest ambition of every American to extend his views beyond himself, and to bear in mind that his conduct will not only affect himself, his country, and his immediate posterity; but that its influence may be co-extensive with the world, and stamp political happiness or misery on ages yet unborn."

-- George Washington
(letter to the Legislature of Pennsylvania, September 5, 1789)

"Patriotism is as much a virtue as justice, and is as necessary for the support of societies as natural affection is for the support of families."

Where Has XEKE Been?
Clearly the content on XEKE.com has ground to a halt over the last year or so. With lives filled with demanding jobs, kids, family life, and all of the little things that the doers of America must uphold, we've not had the time to put pen to paper, so to speak, and keep the XEKE.com philosophy flowing. The fact that the president and his ilk are running our country into the ground also cannot be ignored. We've prioritized as life's challenges have emerged, and family time now occupies what used to be writing time. As they say, it starts in the home.

ObamaCare - The First Ripple
The other day we received in the mail a check for $97 and change from my wife's health insurance provider. According the the 80/20 rule in the recently-passed and recently-upheld Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. ObamaCare; remember, it's a tax, not a penalty), if an insurer cannot demonstrate that they spent 80% of the premiums that they collected in a defined period of time on health care and health-related initiatives for their customer, that insurer must... I knew it wouldn't take Obama long to see how to make the shooting of Trayvon Martin in FL a political talking point. "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon." Is that supposed to make the death of Trayvon much more tragic? Forget that the killing of a... Read the full column

Today I briefly returned to the Supreme Court where large groups of people gathered to either protest or praise Obamacare. Word was that the Unions paid for... Read the full column

You have to give Newt Gingrich credit for further exposing the paper thin skin of Barack Obama, when he called Obama the "Food Stamp President." The truth hurts like a paper cut.

Gingrich's comment brought racist Sheila Jackson Lee from her cage squawking that Gingrich's comment is "code" for some hidden racism on the Right, versus the overt racism of the Left. The Gingrich comment did exactly what it was meant to do: Force Obama to confront his real boogeyman... Read the full column

Exchange With A State Representative -- UPDATED: The Rest Of The Story!
I recently received a mailing from my state representative in the 42nd district in Ohio. It was a survey with the typical political-survey-type questions... It wasn't long after receiving the initial mailing that I received the follow-up to the survey... [It] contained a solicitation for further feedback, and I bit... Read the full column

Mosque Talk
One of us is clearly living in a parallel universe. Mr. Watson, your statements simply do not correspond with reality. There aren't just "some" whack-jobs killing in the name of Islam. And if Islam is such a beautiful, peaceful religion, why aren't the beautiful, peaceful adherents... Read the full column

The Media Reports, The Media Decides - A thought about Illegal Immigration
The media's portrayal of the goings on in Arizona is nothing short of embarrassing. Rather than debate the legislation that was recently signed into law on its merits, everyone from news reporters (who are supposed to stick to the facts without editorializing) to sports opinion writers are Read the full column

One of the biggest threats to our sovereignty, freedom, and prosperity is liberal poltical correctness. Their goal of creating new victims will only make all of our lives less safe and put us all in an increased chance of peril. Always think critically - ask questions, and remember... We are in the midst of a tumultuous period in American history. We are in the beginning stages of what could be the complete unraveling of freedom, prosperity, capitalism, and democracy - the pillars of the society that our Founding Fathers forged some 230+ years ago. The same values and principles that millions of our brothers, sisters, parents, and grandparents offered as the ultimate sacrifice in defending. We have entered a rock-star era of political... Atlas Shrugged, a XEKE.com Review
It is no wonder that sales of Atlas Shrugged have increased dramatically in recent months. If you have not yet become part of the movement, the time is now. Ayn Rand continually refers to the importance of using one's mind in the struggle for freedom, and there's no better way to... Read the full column

"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass."

-- George Washington
(letter to Benjamin Lincoln, June 29, 1788)
