My Opinion of Barack Obama

"They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"
--Barack Obama

So according to Reuters, the latest news out of the Obama camp is the claim that "he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him."

I've sat idly by over the past couple of months doing little more than passing along other's views of Obama. Some under the XEKE.com umbrella have shared their own opinions, as well. But now that Barack Obama has made himself the Democrat Party nominee, and now that well-meaning, thoughtful, intelligent Americans are actually considering voting for him as an agent of change in Washington, I can't remain silent about this contender. Senator Obama has essentially claimed by his quote that I'm susceptible to racism. I will, however, be more polite and less personal.

I don't plan on voting against Obama because he's black. His ethnicity and skin color mean little to me. No, the reason I'm going to vote against him is because he's a racist, Marxist, America-hater. It's really as simple as that.

Obama is a racist, Marxist, America-hater.

Let's start with the racist angle. He's tied himself to some shady characters over the years, and folks like Wright , Moss and Pfleger weren't simply short-term acquaintances. Obama sat in Wright's church for years, he seemed proud of him when he described Wright's performing his wedding and his children's baptism. I didn't describe those years of history, Obama did. So now that he's tied yourself to men such as these, it is completely reasonable to explore their lifestyles and speeches to analyze Obama's character. Following Shakespeare's "rose by any other name" philosophy, these men are simply racists. We've heard what they've said, we've read what they've written... Frankly, I'm offended that the Obama camp has attmepted to spin the issue, both what they've said and why Obama listened to it for two decades. Why did Obama associate with men such as these for 20 years if he didn't subscribe to their philosophy and world view?

Anyone who spends any time working for ACORN, as Obama did as a "community organizer" in Chicago, leaves himself open to the label of Marxism. ACORN has sought to undermine capitalism and the rule of law in favor of greater government control of commerce and wages. Karl Marx would not only be proud of Barack Obama, he would endorse him.

If you're still reading this, you're probably irritated that I called the Senator an America-hater. Perhaps that's a bit strong, but I'm not sure what other way to describe a man who associates with domestic terrorists. Obama may want to pass these associations off as being of little consequence. However, their joint service on the Woods Fund Board in Chicago links their time and their ideology. Obama had the right to refuse to sit on the board of a foundation with a man who said, "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."

But Bill Ayers isn't the only evidence showing that Obama don't have a love for America that serving as President ought to require. His decision to stop wearing a flag on his suit in favor of showing his patriotism via "try[ing] to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism" is telling in a couple of aspects. First of all, there have been a couple of ways that all American's have demonstrated patriotism for over 200 years and the primary method has been by displaying the flag. That's just part of the package of patriotism. Obama's attempt to display patriotism by specifically not donning the flag makes zero sense. Secondly, in Obama's own words: "...tell the American people what will make this country great..." Memo to Obama: This country is great.

And this leads me to what is increasingly becoming my biggest sticking point about Barack Obama. His elitism and arrogance is just about more than I can stand. He offends my intelligence by saying things like, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." He carries himself with the attitude that he and his wife know what is best for me, for you, and for the rest of the country, and unless we tap him as our next president, we're not going to enjoy the prosperity that he knows he can provide for us. Give me a break. Take a look at his quote above about patriotism. Let's examine what Obama is really saying. "Not only do I not think that America is great, I don't believe it's particulaly good, either. But I've got plans for America. So elect me and I'll make America into what it ought to be." Consider the arrogance! Now give this a try, next time you listen to an Obama speech, consider how many times he suggests that he's the guy with the answers and that you need him to get elected.

I didn't even discuss his utter lack of experience in preparation for the presidency, but this, too, must be considered. I also didn't mention that his claim of being the new politician is completely false. One need only look to his energy policy to know that he's a student of the '70's. The point is that I could go on and on, but for the folks who may say to me, "I'm voting for Obama because he'll fix America/clean up Washington/restore our image in the world/be something new for American politics/etc." will get one short response from me: "Barack Obama is a racist, Marxist, America-hater." If my partner in conversation is interested in elaboration, the dialogue can continue.
