PROUD CHRISTIANS UNITE I am going to take a step back from politics, and talk to my Christian brothers around the country, and around the world. I am a proud Catholic, and as a Christian, I feel the power and love of the Holy Spirit daily. I know that His word is true. I live my life in a manner that I pray is pleasing to Jesus. I often times wonder how can I give back go Jesus, as he gave so much to all of us.
We can all do something to help our brothers throughout our cities, states, country, and all over the world. It is important that we all help out others, those in need, and to do so on a routine basis. Whether you volunteer at the local Right to Life office, donate blood, collect canned goods for the local food bank, volunteer at your Church, anonymously donate money to someone in need, collect coats for kids, bikes for kids, become a big brother or big sister, raise money for cancer research, AIDS research, any disease research, volunteer at your local school, support our proud military (current and past)- I feel that it is an obligation for all Christians to help those who need help. Through XEKE.com, Ryan and I are attempting to raise as much money for our brave troops as possible by selling our "Girls of XEKE.com" calendars. All profits go to the troops, and we are truly blessed to have 12 beautiful volunteers take part in this worthwhile fundraiser. Two years ago, when I was an investments rep for National City Bank, I started "Bald Bankers for a Cure," where I raised over $1100 for the American Cancer Society's Right to Life by collecting donations from friends, clients, co-workers, family, and strangers, who wanted to see me shave my head bald. I have personally started "Adopt-a-platoon" drives at three corporations. I am not trying to boost my ego, or make myself look good; I am simply trying to show that anyone can make a difference, if you try. Again, I call upon all Christians, all God loving Americans, to do something special today. Be creative. Be kind. Start a fundraiser. Support a fundraiser. Join the cause. Help others in need. Insert your cliche here, but do whatever you can to help others that need your help. Remember, Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of man kind, and it is important that we show our compassion as Christians, and make a difference today. God Bless. 10/15/2007 |
