I Question Their Patriotism

I'm questioning their patriotism. It's about time, and somebody needs to.

Whose patriotism do I speak of, you ask? Anyone who does not wish to see American success, and more folks fit into this category than you may think. Conscientious objectors and pacifists I can tolerate, but there are Americans, most of them in the Democrat party, whose goal it is to make sure that America does not defeat the terrorists abroad. These people wish defeat upon the U.S. military, not victory.

The politically-correct game has gone on long enough. You know the game. George W. Bush wrote the rulebook, and it’s played like this: "I'm not going to question their patriotism. . ." Why not?!?

Harry Reid has made it known to the world that he (and for all the terrorists know, the people he represents) believes the War on Terror is lost. Nancy Pelosi has taken one international trip to undermine foreign policy (to Syria) and has not ruled out future undermining-trips (most notably, to Iran). John Murtha and his buddies have called for immediate pullout of American troops, citing a "flawed policy wrapped in illusion." And these are just three examples.

Let me make it clear that there is nothing wrong with analyzing mistakes of the past and learning from them. War is full of mistakes. Consider the fumbling and bumbling of the Union Generals that nearly gave Lincoln an ulcer. It wasn't until Grant and Sherman were put in place that the Union army finally got their act together and won the war. Consider D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, Valley Forge. . .war is full of battles and events that when looked upon with hindsight makes one wonder how on earth the whole thing ever happened, why a nation or an army could tolerate such times.

Without a doubt, it is possible to look back on the events of the War on Terror and find instances of regret and failure. This does not mean that we pack up the guns, Bradleys and Apaches and come home. It does mean that we learn from the mistakes, and take the fight to the enemy and do what it takes to win. (As an asside, XEKE.com would most certainly endorse a policy that featured politically-incorrect tactics with the goal of ending the war as soon as possible.)

The folks whose patriotism is in question don't come out and say, "I want America to lose, and that is why I only report negative news, ignore positive news, and look for every opportunity to criticize America in front of the world." However, what are they doing, either in word and deed, that is any different from just coming out of the Anti-America closet and declaring their intentions? Judging by the way the American Left conducts themselves, it can only be assumed that they are not rooting for American success, but rather failure. And for this reason, I question their patriotism.
