First off, you don't get to criticize anyone until you can spell all the words in the article correctly.

Having said that, I am not even sure where to begin correcting you. I am surprised to read that you didn't know of any black churches. Let me clue you in: they are churches where black people go to worship. Just because you don't seem to think that there is a racial problem in the US does not mean that it does not exist. You live in a suburban bubble.

He didn't use the lord's name in vain. He said "god damn America." This is not the same as, for example, "god damn, republicans are stupid." His use of the phrase was to indicate that, in his opinion, "god" was damning America for imaginary sins. Your problem is that your belief in The Invisible Person In The Sky has clouded your judgement.

You're going to get all uptight when anyone invokes "god" in a manner that you disagree with. It's his god, too. As a recovering catholic, I understand that you, as a professed catholic, are under the impression that he's your "god" only, but that's not the case.

"The entire racist life?" You've investigated this man's entire life, and determined all on your own that his entire life has been racist? Really? Can you provide some documentation for that?

Guess what? You don't get to call anyone a racist when you invoke Rush Limbaugh while doing so. Period. Actually, you don't get to call anyone anything if you're going to invoke Rush. Get some original thoughts - by parroting Rush, you're not only wrong, but you look like an idiot doing so. What exactly is it about a drug addict who has been divorced 3 times that makes you admire him enough to vomit back his talking points?

Don't you think that an older black man has a little bit to be angry about? A little catholic boy in Cuyahoga Falls, OH might THINK he knows what he's talking about when it comes to race, but I assure you that you do not. I live there as well. I've seen your photo on your web page - do you honestly believe that you know jack shit about being discriminated against? Rev. Wright is entitled to be angry. Your problem with him is that he calls himself Reverend. Your misguided belief in The Imaginary Cloud Being makes you think that anyone called reverend automatically becomes special. This from someone whose professed religion is littered with priests f***** altar boys. I haven't seen anything on your page condemning white christians who are racist. Why is that?

Teddy prefers scotch. I'm sure you thought that was a funny little joke, but it was not. It merely proves that you have nothing intelligent to say.

Does the above phrase mean that you approve of racist humor? That's sure what it reads like.

Here's a funny joke - ready?

"The Pope to me is a hypocrite, in his Prada loafers and his ball gown. How can he condemn homosexuality when he dresses like he's on his way to Nickel Cosmo Night at the Veiny-Shafts Tavern?"

Or how about this one:

"...Then there's the Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary! God impregnated Mary. We have a whole religion based on one woman who reeeeeeally stuck to her story."

Those are harmless jokes, right?

Wright did not make his remarks on the public airwaves. Imus did. The people who paid the bills - the advertisers - decided that they weren't going to buy ads on his shitty, racist show any longer. That, and the fact that a majority of his co-workers, both at CBS Radio and at MSNBC, indicated to management that they didn't want the racist asshole working with them any longer, led management to choose to fire him. Imus has had a long and colorful history of making racist remarks on the air, including calling a reporter a "nigger wash-woman." Are you condoning that? Again I'll remind you that you've probably not been discriminated against in the manner that Rev. Wright has - or even in the manner that those basketball players were. I'm sure you find black jokes funny; by the tone of this article it is a certainty. Here's a news flash for you: making jokes at the expense of a person's race is not funny. Ever. Anyone flipping through the dials of their radio or television could accidentally come across Imus - you'd have to walk into Wright's church, and sit down and listen in order to hear his opinion. Which, I might add, is not paid for by advertisers. Big difference. I also didn't hear Wright using any racial epithets in those sermons - some of which are 4 and 5 years old, by the way. Imus isn't the most racist man in America, but he's trying.

There's nothing for you to forgive. He's not asking for your forgiveness, and you're pretty full of yourself if you believe that he said something that requires it.

No, John McCain's favorite preacher says that the catholic church is a whore and evil. And he's probably right, come to think of it.

Could you explain exactly why it matters that his middle name is Hussein? Please be very specific, and use YOUR OWN WORDS. Enough of parroting back the talking points. Why do YOU care what Obama's middle name is? I'd also like you to explain what purpose is served by repeating his middle name? Again, use your own words, please.

Man, you are really hung up on Farrakhan, aren't you? Let's just all agree that he's a huge douche and move on from there, ok?

Let's talk about some white preachers, shall we?

Rudy Giuliani's priest has been accused in grand jury proceedings of molesting several children and covering up the molestation of others. Giuliani would not disavow him on the campaign trail and still works with him.

Mitt Romney was part of a church that did not view black Americans as equals and actively discriminated against them. He stayed with that church all the way into his early thirties, until they were finally forced to change their policies to come into compliance with civil rights legislation. Romney never disavowed his church back then or now. He said he was proud of the faith of his fathers.

Jerry Falwell said America had 9/11 coming, because we tolerated gays, feminists and liberals. It was our fault. Our chickens had come home to roost, if you will. John McCain proudly received his support and even spoke at his university's commencement.

Reverend John Hagee has called the Catholic Church the "Great Whore." He has said that the anti-christ will rise out of the European Union (of course, the anti-christ will also be jewish). He has said all muslims are trained to kidd and will be part of the Devil's army when armageddon comes, (which he hopes is soon). John McCain continues to say he is proud of Reverend Hagee's endorsement.

Reverend Rod Parsley believes America was founded to destroy Islam. Reverend Parsley says Islam is an "anti-Christ religion" brought down from a "demon spirit." Of course, we are in a war against all Muslims, including presumably Muslim-Americans. Buts since Parsley believes this is a Christian nation and that it should be run as a theocracy, he is not very concerned what Muslim-Americans think.

John McCain says Reverend Rod Parsley is his "spiritual guide."

I would support [Trinity losing their tax-exempt status] just as soon as the catholic church is stopped from doing the exact same thing. Which I can guess you would be entirely against, right? Let's simplify it: ALL religous groups should have their tax exempt status taken away. Then you wackos can preach all the politics you want, and you can pay your fucking taxes like the rest of us.

Hillary can beat McCain without even having to get up in the morning.

Obama's poor judgement didn't just get 4,000 Americans killed for no reason. Obama's poor judgement didn't make him millions of dollars from war profiteering. Obama's poor judgement hasn't hurt anyone.

He's supporting [the spread of hatred and racism in America] how? He didn't make anyone listen to Rev. Wright, and I sure haven't seen, heard, or read of him saying anything hateful or racist. Can you support your statement with anything other than a wild guess or a talking point that you don't really understand?

Why does the President need a spiritual leader at all? The President's job is NOT to be the spiritual leader of America. His job is to govern, based on the law, not on a book of fairy tales.

I'd like to close by pointing out that anyone who posts an article so full of misspelled words, poor sentence structure , and loaded with grammatical errors should probably not refer to himself as a "senior fellow" I know you think it's clever, but it just makes you look like an idiot. I look forward to you trying to defend your position, but somehow I doubt you'll respond to this at all, let alone post it in your response section.

Your definition of a "black church" as a "church where black people go to worship" begs a number of questions. If my church has 10% black membership, do I attend a 10% black church? Is it a 50/50 thing? Or all or nothing? I submit to you that the actual definition of a "black church" is a church where the "black social gospel is preached", and this is something that many Christians, both black and white (and Asian, Hispanic, etc.), have a problem with because it, at the very least, borders on racism.

I don't have to examine Wright's entire life to know that he is a racist. I don't care what else he's done, or what other fine ministries his church has established. He's a racist, by definition. Do you disagree? Listen to him. Additionally, you haven't found us condemning racist white Christians because we couldn't list all of the atrocities committed all over the world on our little site. Absence of comment is not an endorsement. (The international child sex-slave trade is wrong, bonded-servitude is wrong, genocide in Darfur is wrong, imprisonment of North Koreans returned to their country by the Chinese government is wrong... How long shall I go on?) We take the issues as they come. But since you've now raised the issue, ALL racism is wrong and should not be tolerated. We do not participate in white racism masking itself as Christianity. On the flip side, Barack has been given the opportunity to comment on Wright's racism, and rather than doing so, he threw his white family under the bus. He missed a grand opportunity and revealed his character.

As for Barack's middle name, there are a few issues at play here. First of all, consider recent presidents... their middle name has been well known. And now we're supposed to ignore Barack's? Who's the one with the problem? Secondly, it makes one think of his family's history with Islam. We don't necessarily have a problem with this, but we ought to consider why it is that Hamas and Al Qaeda seem to prefer him over Clinton & McCain. Pointing out that his middle name is Hussein makes one think about who he is. That's it. Folks can then make their own judgement. The hysteria of folks such as yourself at the mere mention of his middle name raises a red flag in my book. As it stands, we're currently left to believe that this candidate, with (a) a historical tie to Islam through his family and education, who has (b) sat in a church (and donated his money, i.e. endorsed it) for 20 years while the preacher made racist, hateful statements, who has (c) been soft on the issue of national security, and (d) who talks about a "change" he wishes to bring about, has the best of intentions for our nation. Call me skeptical.

Honstly, ST, I really enjoyed your response. While I disagree with you on just about every issue (you're right, the President's job is not to be a spiritual leader...did we ever claim that it was?), I appreciate the fact that you read the column and composed a reasoned response...for the most part. Unfortunately, you showed your hand as a blind partisan when you claimed that "Hillary can beat McCain without even having to get up in the morning." Do you really believe that? If you do, you're a lonely man. Terry McAuliffe doesn't even believe that.

Thanks for participating on XEKE.com.
